UNDER THE SURFACE

This series was part of a group exhibition working with the Royal Engineers Museum, Library and Archive. After exploring the archive I found myself drawn to First World War photographs, particularly a set of portraits of Royal Engineers and aerial photographs of trenches in and around the Somme.

I merged the portraits and aerial photographs together to emphasise the work the Royal Engineers do and that their imprint on the landscape is always there under the surface.
